Sega Dreamcast — GDEMu 5.20, PixelFX DC Digital v2 HDMI, Fully Recapped & Rebuilt Bundle

The Sega Dreamcast was ahead of its time in 1999 — and this one has been completely rebuilt to prove it. Every known failure point has been addressed, every cap replaced, and a full digital HDMI output has been installed. This isn't a cleaned-up old console. This is a Dreamcast that will outlast every stock unit still out there.

Every build at Altered Retro is torn down, inspected, and rebuilt to our standard. If it doesn't pass, it doesn't ship.

What we've done to this Dreamcast:

• Full motherboard recap with Console5 caps and correct audio caps — eliminates the audio degradation and instability that kills aging Dreamcasts
• Recapped the power supply and removed the 12v rail — reduces heat and extends the life of the board significantly
• Upgraded the controller board battery slot for CR2032 batteries (removable) — recapped the board and swapped the resistor for a self-healing design to prevent controller short circuit damage
• Upgraded to a Noctua fan — runs whisper-quiet and significantly cooler than the stock fan
• Installed and tested a GDEMu 5.20 with heatsinks — play your entire Dreamcast library from an SD card, no optical drive wear
• Installed a custom SD card slot with button for game resets — clean, flush-mounted, accessible without opening the console
• Installed a PixelFX DC Digital v2 Shiny Edition — true digital HDMI output, no analog conversion, no signal loss
• All new thermal pads installed throughout
• Cleaned and polished the shell — minor nicks and light surface scratches consistent with a 25-year-old system, no cracks

Shell condition: Good The shell has been cleaned and polished. Small nicks and light surface scratches are present consistent with age — no cracks, no structural damage. All photos are of the actual unit you will receive.
